In 1769, the Chartres Baron, future Orleans baron, buys one hectare of ground in the heart of the plain of Heap. It will be the starting point, modest, of the madness of Chartres. A house is built in the center of a garden which the duc, who will become Philippe-Equality. The town of Paris buys it in 1860. A part will be transformed into park by the baron Haussmann and will be inaugurated in 1861 by Napoleon III.
